Beautiful vintage Wilhelm Kagel studio pottery vase, made in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, in the 1960s–70s. The elegant bulbous form has a flared neck and a striking hand-decorated design of alternating green and dark brown-black vertical stripes, emphasizing the shape of the vase.
The base bears the characteristic incised WK monogram used by the Wilhelm Kagel workshop. Wilhelm Kagel Jr. (1906–1987) took over the family pottery in 1935; the workshop produced handmade ceramics in small series, often using distinctive geometric decoration.
