Vintage SCHLOSSBERG KERAMIK Brown and White Vase with Peacock decor 231 25 West German Pottery 1960s

This is a fantastic vintage vase from Schlossberg Keramik, a respected studio pottery. Dating to the 1960s, this piece features a striking and highly artistic "Peacock decor" and form number 231 25.

The vase has a beautiful organic form that serves as a canvas for its unique, two-tone finish. A rich, dark brown and black glaze forms the base, over which an abstract, hand-painted pattern in a contrasting off-white is applied.

Schlossberg Keramik was known for its high-quality, artisanal ceramics, and each piece was hand-finished. This vase is a prime example of their expressive designs and stands as a testament to the artistry that defined West German studio pottery of the period.
