Vintage RUSCHA KERAMIK Handled Vase with VULKANO decor by Kurt Tschorner 315 West German Pottery 1960s

This is a beautiful vintage handled jug vase made by Ruscha Keramik. The form, marked 315 on the base, was designed by Kurt Tschörner.

The pottery features the famous VULKANO decor, which is a thick, textured fat lava glaze in a striking red-orange color. The shape is bulbous with a round body, a narrow spout, and a sleek, rounded handle.

Ruscha Keramik was a leading producer of West German ceramics during its "golden age". Designer Kurt Tschörner created many successful and iconic forms for the company. The Vulcano glaze was an innovative development that moved towards the dripping fat-lava style.
