A rare and highly decorative vintage Ü-Keramik (Uebelacker) bowl, model 2815/16, made in West Germany. The striking orange and dark brown volcanic glaze belongs to Ü-Keramik’s sought-after “Robot” decor, known for its raised dots and playful Space Age appearance. Comparable Robot pieces are generally dated to the 1960s.
This unusual shallow bowl has a wonderful sculptural shape with raised details along the rim and an intense orange Fat Lava surface covered with dark brown crater-like spots. A fantastic collector’s piece of West German pottery and a real statement piece for a Mid-Century Modern, Space Age or Brutalist interior.
