Own a rare piece of design history with this striking vase by renowned Bauhaus potter Theodor Bogler (1897-1968)
Though best known for his ceramics, Bogler’s path took a unique turn when he became prior of Maria Laach Abbey in 1939. Without pottery facilities at the monastery, he collaborated with top manufacturers to realize his designs—including this vase, expertly produced by the esteemed Staatlich Majolika-Manufaktur Karlsruhe.
The vase is marked and was exclusively sold through ars liturgica, Bogler’s own shop at Maria Laach. The elegant forms reflect Bogler’s timeless vision, while the distinctive glazes—crafted by Karlsruher Majolika. The red glaze was also used on other pieces produced by the company.
