This distinctive vintage double-handled vase is an authentic piece of West German pottery by MAREI Keramik. The unique amphora shape is clearly marked on the base with the form number 9302.
The vase features a globular body with two small handles and is covered in an artistic ink pattern of blue and beige/white glazes. This highly dynamic, flowing glaze creates a detailed, marbled surface texture and is called "Caprice" decor.
MAREI Keramik (Jean Fuss & Sohn) was a major German manufacturer of artistic ceramics, highly active in the 1960s and 1970s. They were known for using distinctive and innovative glazes and were highly influential in the Fat Lava movement.
