JASBA Keramik was founded in 1926 by Jakob Schwaderlapp in Ransbach-Baumbach, West Germany. The company name is an acronym derived from the founder's name and the town's name: Jakob Schwaderlapp Baumbach. Jasba produced a wide variety of art pottery, known for its focus on experimental shapes and molded patterns, and was particularly active in art pottery until the end of the 1970s. The company later switched primarily to tile production and is still in existence today.
