This is a beautiful vintage glass decanter from the mid-20th century, a masterpiece of Danish design. It was created by Jacob Bang for the premier glassworks Holmegaard in Denmark. The decanter is famous for the "kluk-kluk" sound it makes when liquid is poured.
The decanter features a tall, slender silhouette with four pinched, concave sides, giving it its unique shape. It is made from striking dark blue hand-blown glass and includes its original clear glass bubble stopper. The simple, elegant form perfectly embodies Scandinavian Modern style.
Jacob Bang (1899–1965) was the artistic director at Holmegaard from 1928 to 1941, and he is considered Denmark's first true industrial designer. The Kluk Kluk decanter is one of his most iconic and successful designs. This piece is highly sought after by collectors of Danish and Scandinavian art glass.
Condition: Overall excellent condition, no cracks, no flakes, no repairs. Be aware that some substance residue persist in the decanter's bottom even after cleaning.
