A charming vintage German pottery wall plaque from the 1950s, decorated with a playful holiday scene featuring palm trees, a small white house, water, a yellow sun and colorful mid-century details. The dark brown background gives the bright green, yellow, blue and red accents a lovely contrast. A wonderful decorative piece with a cheerful Mediterranean feel, perfect for a vintage wall display, hallway, kitchen or retro interior.
The reverse side is marked “HEMA Handarbeit” and still has its original hanging cord. Not much is known about HEMA pottery, but this piece was most likely made in the same German pottery region as makers such as Keto Keramik and Ahr Keramik. In good vintage condition with small age-related marks and light wear, as shown in the photos.
