Striking vintage Carstens Tönnieshof vase, model C840/12, from the Atelier series with Ceylon decor, designed by Gerda Heuckeroth. The unusual asymmetric bottle form is decorated with broad painterly strokes in brown, beige, cream and dark earthy tones.
The exclusive Carstens Atelier series was produced from 1962–1964 and was mainly designed by Gerda Heuckeroth, combining sculptural forms with expressive hand-applied decoration.
This vase is in excellent condition.
