Achatit is a registered trademark of a German company known for decorative objects made from a composite of ground stone, sawdust, and a binder. Products were cast in molds and polished with agate stones, giving Achatit its name. Achatit Werkstätten and designer Hans Schirmer are particularly celebrated for their wall decorations and masks, often with a distinctive wood-look, produced from the 1950s onwards.
