Vintage Edelstein Porzellan vase from the 861 Athen series, designed by Kurt Wendler and produced in Germany around the 1960s. The glossy white porcelain body features a continuous sculptural relief with stylized human figures, plants and sun motifs, combined with a short cylindrical neck and raised foot.
The Athen relief was designed in 1959 and reflects the move toward highly graphic, sculptural porcelain in postwar German design. Its simplified figures and angular lines create a striking contrast with the pure monochrome white finish.
