Vintage Wiesenthalhütte solifleur vase designed by Klaus Breit, made in Germany during the early 1970s. The heavy clear glass has a rounded disc shape with a single narrow flower opening, decorated with an abstract arrangement of textured oval forms and raised glass bubbles.
Wiesenthalhütte developed a distinctive series of sculptural single-flower vases under Klaus Breit, using thick cast glass to combine decoration and function in one solid form. These experimental Zweigvasen are characteristic of the clean, architectural direction of German glass design at the beginning of the 1970s.
