Striking vintage VEB Gräfenroda vase, model 122-22, made in East Germany around the 1950s–1960s. The tall cylindrical form features richly embossed floral and scrolling relief decoration, finished in a warm glossy caramel-brown glaze with darker horizontal accents.
VEB Gräfenroda emerged from the former Carstens Gräfenroda factory after World War II and became a state-owned ceramic producer in the GDR. During the 1950s the factory gradually moved away from earlier Carstens designs and developed its own range of decorative ceramics.
