Vintage Studio Art Pottery Vase by ZENKER-KARTHAUSEN West Germany 1990

This stunning vintage vase was created by the renowned German ceramic duo, Zenker-Karthausen, in 1990. The vase showcases their distinctive style, characterized by organic forms, textured surfaces, and a harmonious blend of earthy tones. The piece features a unique shape with a wide base that tapers towards the top, divided into two distinct sections: one half is adorned with a creamy white glaze, while the other half is covered in a rich, deep red glaze. The contrast between the two colors creates a visually striking and dynamic effect.
The vase is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. The glaze is intact and the colors remain vibrant.

Ingeborg Zenker ( Hannover 1926 - 2010) was a student of Richard Uhlemeyer. Her creations can be found in several German museums.
She was a student of Richard Uhlemeyer and worked for Sibylle Karrenberg-Dresler. In 1963 she founded a studio community with Gerburg Karthausen, in Solingen West Germany, which lasted until her death.
Her work is preserved in museums in various German cities, including Cologne, Düsseldorf, Frechen, Fredelsloh, Munich and Berlin.
