Heiner Balzar, son of Elfriede Balzar-Kopp was a highly acclaimed German ceramicist born in Höhr-Grenzhausen.
He collaborated with Steuler Keramik to create the sophisticated "Objekte" series between 1983 and 1986. Balzar was known for blending industrial production with a unique studio-art feel. Today, his work for Steuler is prized for its architectural forms and avant-garde glazes.
