This striking Scheurich Keramik vase model 401-28 is a beautiful example of iconic West German Fat Lava pottery from the 1970s. The cylindrical shape with its distinctive loop handle is finished in a vibrant fiery orange-red glaze, accented with textured bands of deep blue and yellow accents that create a dramatic lava effect and add exceptional depth and character.
Whether displayed with a single flower or admired on its own, it is a wonderful addition to any collection of West German pottery or Mid-Century Modern décor.
Scheurich Keramik was founded in 1928 and started making pottery in 1954. The company became the biggest producer of decorative ceramics in West Germany. Many of their successful shapes were designed by Heinz Siery.
