This striking stoneware vase is a fine example of Scandinavian Studio Pottery, perfectly capturing the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic. Though unsigned, its minimalist form and distinctive glaze are reminiscent of designs by masters like Gunnar Nylund.
The vase features a clean, organic drop shape with a narrow neck, typical of the 1950s and 1960s. It is finished with a deep, matte black glaze that has a wonderfully rough, chamotte-like texture, giving it a sculptural and robust appearance.
