This vintage double-handled vase is an authentic piece of West German pottery made by MAREI Keramik. The unique amphora shape is marked on the base with the form number 6308.
The globular body features two looped handles and is covered in a brilliant red-orange glaze base. This is overlaid with a stark white, crackled, and highly textured Fat Lava glaze. The dramatic color contrast and tactile surface make this a perfect statement piece.
MAREI Keramik (Jean Fuss & Sohn) was a major German manufacturer of artistic ceramics from 1949 to 2016. They were a manufacturing powerhouse known for using distinctive glazes and were highly influential in the Fat Lava movement.
