This ceramic jug vase is a decorative and colorful piece of collectible West German Pottery. It was produced by SIMON PETER GERZ KERAMIK, a well-known Westerwald manufacturer, dating from the 1970s.
The piece features a distinctive jug form with a handle (Form 804-15) and comes from the "Reliefserie". The body is finished in a smooth glaze combination of light blue and accents of darker blue, topped with a red glaze on the neck. This piece showcases the vibrant color and applied detail popular in WGP during this period.
Simon Peter Gerz, established in 1840, specialized in beer steins but also produced a wide range of decorative vases and jugs, often utilizing thick, colorful glazes that fit well within the Fat Lava era.
Condition: The ceramic body is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Original foil label is still intact.
