Vintage DUMLER UND BREIDEN Handled Black and Red Vase 332-26 West German Pottery 1960-70s

This is an authentic Vintage vase by Dumler & Breiden, one of the most prolific and enduring manufacturers of West German Pottery (WGP). This tall, imposing jug-vase perfectly embodies the dramatic glazes and bold forms of the 1960s and 1970s.

The vase features a tall, cylindrical body with a narrow, slightly tapered neck and an integrated loop handle, giving it a strong, bottle-like silhouette. The glaze is a high-contrast design: the bottom two-thirds of the body is finished in a matte, textured black glaze, while the upper shoulder, neck, and handle feature a vibrant glossy red glaze.

Dümler & Breiden was one of the most successful and prolific manufacturers of West German art pottery (WGP), founded in 1883 in Höhr-Grenzhausen. The company experienced a period of strong growth during the post-war "ceramic boom" of the 1950s and 1960s, producing a wide range of forms characterized by high quality and flamboyant styles.
