Ceramano was founded in 1959 in Ransbach-Baumbach, West Germany, by Jakob Schwaderlapp, founder of Jasba Keramik (established 1926) .
He created as a higher-end, studio-style counterpart to Jasba’s mass-produced ceramics, offering more artistic and experimental forms and glazes. Pieces were often hand-made or hand-finished; many bases include hand-written markings, such as décor names, shape numbers, and artists’ initials—emphasizing a “studio work” feel.
