Vintage Blue Mountain Pottery dolphin figurine, made in Canada during the 1960s–1970s. The sculptural dolphin is captured leaping above a stylized wave, finished in the distinctive glossy green and black flowing glaze associated with Blue Mountain Pottery.
Blue Mountain Pottery was established near Collingwood, Ontario in the early 1950s and became particularly known for its flowing glaze technique. The glaze naturally created variations from piece to piece, giving its animal sculptures their characteristic depth and rich tonal transitions.
