This ceramic vase is a striking example of Italian Mid-Century Modern design. It was made by Bertoncello Ceramiche d'Arte during the 1960s and 1970s. Many of these pieces are known for their sculptural and geometric forms.
The vase is covered in a beautiful, rich blue gloss glaze, decorated with blue drip glaze in an orange and yellow decor.
Bertoncello Ceramiche d'Arte was founded in Schiavon, Italy, around 1956. Giovanni Bertoncello (1930–2011) was the main creative force behind the shapes and glazes. Designer Roberto Rigon created many of the company’s most famous modernist pieces.
This vase is in excellent condition, no chips, hairlines or other damages.
