This is a stunning vintage fat lava vase from the famous West German Pottery producer Ruscha Keramik. The tall, elegant form was designed by Kurt Tschörner and features the iconic "Vulkano" decor.

The vase has a striking, tall, and slender shape with a narrow neck. It is covered in a vibrant, thick, textured red-orange lava glaze that looks like solidified magma. The surface feels rough to the touch, which is typical of the dramatic "Fat Lava" style.

Kurt Tschörner was a celebrated designer who created popular forms for Ruscha Keramik. The famous "Vulkano" glaze was an innovative decor developed by Otto Gerharz, who also worked for Ruscha. Ruscha is a key name in Mid-Century Modern West German Pottery and is highly collected online.
