Rare Vintage STEULER KERAMIK Brown Ceramic Candle Holder 920 by Heiner Balzar from the Objekt Series West German Pottery 1980s

This exceptional piece of Steuler Keramik is part of the acclaimed 'Objekt' series by designer Heiner Balzar. Dating to the 1980s, its striking sculptural form perfectly embodies the Brutalist and Organic Modern aesthetic.

The candle holder features a textured, matte-finish glaze, called Magma, in natural earth tones of deep brown and caramel, sometimes with creamy highlights, which beautifully accentuates its organic, irregularly formed shape.

Heiner Balzar (born 1937) is one of the most important ceramic artists to emerge from the Westerwald region of Germany, the heart of its pottery industry. As the son of famous ceramist Elfriede Balzar-Kopp, he established a distinguished career, working with renowned firms like Steuler.
