Handmade Art Deco Glossy Green Ball Vase by ANTON LANG from Oberammergau, Germany 1920-1930.
Signed at the bottom by the artist and original paper label is still attached.
This vase is in excellent condition, no cracks, hairlines or other damages, a real piece of pre-war art pottery.
Anton Lang (b.17th January 1875 - d.30th May 1938) was an art potter who was also a prominent actor in the "Passion Play", between 1900 and 1934, hosted in Oberammergau. He played the central role of Jesus Christ in 1900, 1910, and 1922. He was also the prologue speaker for the play in 1930 and 1934.
His son Karl (b.1903 - d.1990) took over his father's pottery circa 1935, and continued the pottery after his father's death, until his own retirement in 1975.
